THURSDAYS 5.30PM - Drop in class just turn up.  Wear layers it gets hot $10

Join Kat on a Monday and Lisa and Jeanette on a Thursday in a supportive space, with a light hearted encouraging vibe, where you will learn heaps and find your rhythm.

This 5 week course will give you the foundations to move to beginner dances and some of you beyond that to improvers.

The key to remembering a routine is to convert the physical movements into muscle memory which means you don't have to think about each step. Go over steps in class as much as possible, in particular tricky quick movements. Repetition is key to creating muscle memory.

There are not many steps to remember just sequences.  The basic steps are

Vine

Rocking step, could be rocking chair, side rock, cross rock, back rock

Monterey

Jazz

quarter turn

pivot

shuffle

Some suggestions for helping you learn!

  1. Ask questions. Ask for steps to be repeated if you don't get it.
  2. Be patient.
  3. Come to classes often
  4. if a step isn't clicking use some different step that fits

         5. Learn the terminology, eg rocking step, k step

The best thing about Line dancing is you always have a laugh!  Could be at yourself or the person beside you!  Everyone is concentrating on themselves and you don't need a partner!
